Overview of Seoul Declaration at SWMF 2005:
Mayors and delegates of 27 cities around the world are fully aware that in order to achieve sustainable development and bring vitality to Seoul city centers, it is necessary to share experiences and to cooperate in common endeavors. This common spirit inherits the ideals of Metropolis and united cities and local government.

e are now living in an era where cities will be the driving engines of growth. Cooperation and synergy among cities will no doubt give us a boost in making achievements in this era. Seoul is the 600 year old capital of Korea, but it was only in recent decades that we achieved such rapid, remarkable growth.
