The first 25 years on Oman's road to development (1970- 1995) saw major economic growth through the country's successive five-year development plans. By the mid-1990s, there came the need to recognize a long-range forecast of the second phase of sustainable development over the next quarter century (1995-2020).

Answer:
One of the main purposes of my visit is to strengthen economic ties and create economic relations. We had a meeting with President Roh Moo-hyun and Prime Minister Lee Hae-chan. I also had lunch with the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Energy. There was also a forum, the Korea-Oman Joint Business Meeting, for the private sector. The Sultanate of Oman, with an area of 309,500 , encompasses mountain ranges, arid deserts and fertile plains. It shares borders with the Republic of Yemen to the southwest, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the west and the United Arab Emirate to the north, and can lay claim to a number of small islands in the Gulf of Oman, the Strait of Hormuz and in the Arabian Sea.
