The first 25 years on Oman's road to development (1970- 1995) saw major economic growth through the country's successive five-year development plans. By the mid-1990s, there came the need to recognize a long-range forecast of the second phase of sustainable development over the next quarter century (1995-2020).

Answer: One of the main purposes of my visit is to strengthen economic ties and create economic relations. We had a meeting with President Roh Moo-hyun and Prime Minister Lee Hae-chan. I also had lunch with the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Energy. There was also a forum, the Korea-Oman Joint Business Meeting, for the private sector.
