Our relations go back as far as the 60s, before independence. Our cooperation then was mainly confined to the construction sector. After independence in 1971, the relations took off more considerably, when diplomatic cooperation especially on the international arena has led to the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1974.
Since the 90s of the last century, energy cooperation has increased significantly with the signing of LNG agreement between the two countries. However, other aspects of the relations have recently been developing at a faster pace in previous years, such as, education,...
