Deepening the already Excellent Bilateral Relations:

Greece welcomes President Roh Moo-hyun. This is the first time a Korean President visits Greece. We are confident that the visit will enhance cooperation in all fields and deepen the already excellent bilateral relations. The two countries established diplomatic relations on Apr. 5, 1961. They have signed many agreements including agreements for the protection of investments and avoidance of double taxation. Two more agreements, on tourism cooperation and maritime transport, are expected to be signed during President Roh's visit thus completing a rather comprehensive framework.

For the Mutual Benefit of Helsinki and Seoul:

The diplomatic relations between the Republic of Korea (South Korea) and the Republic of Finland were established in 1973. Finland has had a full diplomatic representation in Seoul since 1985. The relationship between the two countries has traditionally been excellent. In terms of political relations, the two countries have not experienced any difficulties - vice versa, we have supported each other in many international fora and organizations.
